The agreement behind every trade-in.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Gatewiser LLC ("rebuut", "we", "us"), which operates rebuut.co (the "Site"). By using the Site or sending us a device you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

The service

rebuut buys used laptops, phones, tablets and smartwatches from consumers in the United States. You describe your device, we give you an estimate, you ship the device to us with a prepaid label, we inspect it and make a final offer. If you accept, we pay you. If you decline, we return the device at no cost.

Your account

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to create an account and trade in a device. You agree to give accurate information, to keep your password confidential and to tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You are responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time under Account settings once no trade-in is in transit or awaiting payment.

Eligible devices

By sending us a device you confirm that you own it outright and have the right to sell it, that it is not reported lost or stolen, that it is not subject to a finance agreement or carrier payment plan that prohibits its sale, and that all activation locks (such as Find My, Google account lock and Samsung account) have been removed. We check device identifiers against lost and stolen databases. Devices that fail these checks are not purchased; where the law requires it, they are reported and held for the authorities rather than returned.

Devices with swollen, punctured or leaking batteries cannot be shipped and are not accepted. Please recycle them locally.

You are responsible for backing up and erasing your personal data before shipping. We erase every device we receive in line with industry data-sanitization standards, but we cannot recover data for you once a device has been received.

Estimates, shipping and offers

Estimates. The estimate shown on the Site is based on the details you enter and on published resale market data. It is not a binding offer. Estimates are valid for 14 days from the date they are saved.

Shipping. When you request a label we email you a prepaid US shipping label and packing instructions. Devices must be shipped within 14 days of the label date. Risk of loss passes to us when the carrier scans the package. Pack the device securely; we are not responsible for damage caused by inadequate packaging.

Inspection and final offer. We inspect each device within 2 business days of arrival. If the device matches your description, the final offer equals your estimate. If it does not, we make a revised offer and explain the difference. You have 7 days to accept or decline a revised offer in your account; if we do not hear from you, the offer is accepted automatically after a reminder.

Declining. If you decline a revised offer we return your device to the shipping address on file at no cost, normally within 2 business days. Returned devices are shipped in the condition they were received.

Cancelling. You can cancel before shipping by simply not sending the device. Unshipped trade-ins close automatically after 30 days.

Payment

We pay within 3 business days after you accept a final offer, by the payout method chosen in your account: PayPal to the email address on file, or bank transfer using the details you provide through our secure form. You are responsible for any taxes on amounts you receive. We may require identity verification before paying for high-value devices or where the law requires it.

SMS Terms

The rebuut text message program ("rebuut Updates") is operated by Gatewiser LLC ("rebuut", "we", "us").

By opting in, you consent to receive transactional and informational text messages from rebuut at the mobile number you provided: confirmations about your account, updates about your trade-ins such as label, shipping, inspection and offer notifications, payment confirmations, and replies to your questions. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages. Consent is not a condition of creating an account or of any trade-in.

Message frequency may vary. Standard message and data rates may apply.

To stop receiving messages, reply STOP to any message. You will receive one message confirming your opt-out and no further messages after that. You may also opt out by updating your preference under Account settings or by contacting us at contact@rebuut.co.

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

We may change these SMS Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. For how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy at rebuut.co/privacy.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Site to break the law, to send devices you do not own, to misrepresent a device's condition, to collect information about other users, to interfere with the Site's security or operation, or to copy the Site's content for commercial purposes. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms and refuse future trade-ins.

Our content

The Site, its design, text, graphics and software are owned by Gatewiser LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use the Site for your personal, non-commercial purposes only. Market reference prices shown on the Site are derived from Rebuya open data and are used under its terms.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Estimates are not guarantees of a final offer.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gatewiser LLC and its officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Site or from any trade-in. Our total liability for any claim relating to a device will not exceed the final offer amount for that device, and for any other claim will not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD 100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
